BVI catamaran charters are becoming increasingly popular. Why should you consider a catamaran over a motor yacht or sailboat? Here are some advantages of a catamaran charter in the BVI.

Shallow water cruising: Catamarans don't need deep water to float, so they can access shallow bays, harbors and coves. This is an advantage during busy seasons as you’ll have more anchoring options.

Fast sailing: A catamaran has fast cruising speeds, which means you will can reach more destinations during your charter.

Less roll, reduced seasickness: A catamaran’s double hulls means that it doesn't roll back and forth like a monohull, reducing the chance of getting seasick. The deck remains level whether at at anchor or under way.

Safer cruising: While safety precautions are taken on all charters, a catamaran has added benefits. The steadiness of dual hulls means you're less likely to be thrown overboard in rough waters. The hulls have several water-tight compartments, so if a hull is pierced, a catamaran won't sink.

Views and layout: Lounging areas on a catamaran are up top, providing panoramic views. The layout allows for larger interior living spaces, plus there are fewer stairs and less separation between the cockpit and galley.

Privacy: With cabins located in the hulls, sleeping quarters are more private, and secluded from the common areas.

Easy water access: Closeness to the water makes catamarans an excellent choice for active charter groups who wish to enjoy available water sports and toys.
